To submit the completed form, either print a hard copy to deliver to the Office of Academic Affairs and Research or click on \u2018submit\u2019 at the top of the form.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/navigator.nscad.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NSCAD-SSHRC-Grant-Application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Application for Research Grant (NSCAD-SSHRC)<\/a> &#8211;&gt;<\/p>\n<h5>Research Centres and Research Institutes<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/navigator.nscad.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/3.6-Policy-on-Research-Centres-and-Research-Institutes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>External funding<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/nserc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cihr.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.innovation.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Research Support Fund<\/h5>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rsf-fsr.gc.ca\/home-accueil-eng.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Research Support Fund <\/a>assists Canadian post-secondary institutions with the indirect costs (the operational costs that underpin an institution\u2019s research activities, i.e., heating, lighting, ethics reviews, facilities for animals used in research, management of intellectual property, environmental assessment and safety compliance. The services that give rise to indirect costs are institutionally based and are not specific to individual research grants) associated with managing their research enterprise, helping them to maintain a world-class research environment. The Research Support Fund for universities is calculated based on a proportion of Tri-Council funded grants earned over a three-year period. Grants can be used to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 maintain modern labs and equipment;<br \/>\n\u2022 provide access to up-to-date knowledge resources;<br \/>\n\u2022 provide research management and administrative support;<br \/>\n\u2022 meet regulatory and ethical standards; or<br \/>\n\u2022 transfer knowledge from academia to the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, helping to make Canada a world leader in research and development.<\/p>\n<p>From 2020-2025, NSCAD used its RSF support to fund research public lecture series, research office grant support to faculty and for the library\u2019s purchase of online direct licenses, cataloguing functions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>2024 &#8211; 2025 ($179,613)<\/li>\n<li>2023 &#8211; 2024 ($160,642)<\/li>\n<li>2022 &#8211; 2023 ($133,846)<\/li>\n<li>2021 &#8211; 2022 ($107,007)<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2020 \u2013 2021 ($91,215<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With the support of the <strong>2025-26 RSF ($174,995)<\/strong>, NSCAD plans to allocate its grant funds under each of the following five expenditure categories:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Research facilities : $20,000 (Library infrastructure)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Research resources : $35,000 (investing in the library resource collections in the areas of our EDI cohort faculty appointments)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution\u2019s research enterprise : $100,000 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $10,000 (National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation and Research Ethics Officer)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $9,995 (Springboard Atlantic Ltd membership \u2013 administration of agreements and partnerships with industry)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As well, NSCAD continues to support the research enterprise, by providing one on one support to faculty in the process of developing their research programs.<\/p>\n<p>From 2020-2025, NSCAD used its RSF support to fund research public lecture series, research office grant support to faculty and for the library\u2019s purchase of online direct licenses, cataloguing functions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a02024-25 RSF ($179,613)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Research facilities : $15,000 (Library infrastructure)<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Research resources : $41,500 (investing in the library resource collections in the areas of our EDI cohort faculty appointments)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution\u2019s research enterprise : $95,113 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $10,000 (National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation and Research Ethics Officer)<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $18,000 (Springboard Atlantic Ltd membership \u2013 administration of agreements and partnerships with industry)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a02023-24 RSF ($160,642)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Research facilities : $20,042 (Library infrastructure)<\/li>\n<li>Research resources : $34,600 (investing in the library resource collections in the areas of our EDI cohort faculty appointments)<\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution&#8217;s research enterprise : $80,000 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $10,000 (National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation and Research Ethics Officer)<\/li>\n<li>Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $16,000 (Springboard Atlantic Ltd membership &#8211; administration of agreements and partnerships with industry)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>2022 \u2013 2023 ($133,846)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Research facilities : $0<\/li>\n<li>Research resources : $48,366 (investing in the library resource collections in the areas of our EDI cohort faculty appointments)<\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution&#8217;s research enterprise : $75,480 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $0<\/li>\n<li>Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $10,000 (Springboard Atlantic Ltd membership &#8211; administration of agreements and partnerships with industry)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>2021 \u2013 2022 ($107,007)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Research facilities : $20,052 (Library infrastructure)<\/li>\n<li>Research resources : $66,902 (investing in the library resource collections)<\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution&#8217;s research enterprise : $20,053 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $0<\/li>\n<li>Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>2020 \u2013 2021 ($91,215)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Research facilities : $1,215 (Library infrastructure)<\/li>\n<li>Research resources : $40,000 (investing in the library resource collections)<\/li>\n<li>Management and administration of the institution&#8217;s research enterprise : $45,000 (Research Grants Officer and financial oversight)<\/li>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and accreditation : $5,000 (Research Ethics Officer)<\/li>\n<li>Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization : $0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>NSCAD commits to publicly and actively communicate how RSF funds are used at the institution to support research activities.
