Facilities Management & Service Centre

Facilities Management

The Facilities Management department provides and is responsible for maintenance services to all three NSCAD campuses.

We service, operate and maintain building structures, building equipment, specialized facilities, heating and cooling facilities, electrical, grounds, water and waste distribution systems. We also manage custodial services, waste removal, recycling, pest control and transportation.

The Facilities Management department is also responsible for fire protection, emergency preparedness, security, maintaining records related to NSCAD facilities and building services, and keeping up-to-date information and drawings.

The Facilities Management department provides complete project delivery services for construction of new facilities or renovation to existing buildings, labs, shops or property. These services include project design and layout, feasibility and scope of project estimates, and tendering and contract management.

Our skilled staff strives to provide NSCAD University with exceptional service while maintaining a safe and sustainable environment.

The Service Centre

The Service Centre provides a space for students to do photocopying, receive and send courier packages and shipments, send and receive faxes, and send mail to staff and faculty within the university system. The centre also operates as a holding area for students who need to have packages, mail and faxes sent to them at the university.

Students receiving anything from outside the University should ensure their name is on the package.

Students may also purchase access cards and leave deposits ($5—25) to receive studio keys. Access cards cost $20 to purchase and $10 is returned to the student upon completion of his or her time at NSCAD. Access cards are needed for all three NSCAD buildings, especially for after hour use and access to elevators. Access cards are also needed for 24-hour access to certain departments.
